PHOENIX -- Right fielder Jody Gerut became the sixth Brewers player to hit for the cycle when he smacked a two-run double in the ninth inning of Saturday's 17-3 rout of the D-backs at Chase Field.

Gerut, making just his fourth start this season, homered leading off the second inning, hit a single in the third, smacked an RBI triple in the fifth and picked up his two-run double in the ninth. Before Saturday, Gerut had four hits all season in 30 at-bats. He became the first Brewer to hit for the cycle since catcher Chad Moeller did it against the Reds at Miller Park on April 27, 2004.

The others are Paul Molitor in 1991 at the Twins, Robin Yount in '88 at the Whilte Sox, Charlie Moore in '80 at the Angels and Tommy Harper in '76 at the Tigers.

It was also the third cycle allowed by D-backs pitchers in franchise history, and the first since the Astros' Luke Scott accomplished the feat against Arizona in 2006.
