Woah ... Lars Anderson is still a really good prospect. I'm surprised the Sox made this deal ...

We have A-Gon for 7 more years... where would we put Lars?

Yeah, that's a good point. But Rich Harden, who's expiring and is ... well, Rich Harden?

I'd rather have put Lars in a package with Reddick and maybe Oscar Tejeda to get Ubaldo Jimenez.

(Which is probably overpaying, but ... Rich Harden!?)

That would have been bad, but the red sox dont want to trade reddick i dont think, and they traded a lot of their top prospects in the A-Gon deal

Well, you still have Iglesias, Anthony Ranaudo, and Britton heading up the farm, who I believe would be untouchable. The Red Sox have a good farm system, they can deal those three, of Lars, Tejeda, Reddick (though realistically, it'd only take two) to get Jimenez who can be a #2 for three years. I just don't get what you're going to do with Rich Harden, who has a 6.35 post-season ERA and expires after this year.

I agree with what you are saying, but Jimenez is off the market, and the price was too steep to get him... Look at what the Indians gave up...Iglesias is slated as the future SS, so we aint moving him, unless we get a really big name player
