    i've always hated A-Rod, he's had steroid issues, and now these come on its about time to suspend him!

    this isn't even a big deal, i dont think many people care about his poker games

    Yeah, I thought this was one of the most overblown things ever this year. Why would you suspend him for playing poker, I bet more than half the league gambles.

    ya im sure at least half of them due, i know its not basketball but after that whole Gilbert Arenas things multiple teams banned gambling on there team trips, and other players admitted to playing, so the MLB is going overboard on this

    Well with cases as Pete Rose, Donaghy ref gambling, im pretty sure its a no toleration policy. And besides didnt they say it was illegal gambling-poker games. Not just regular, it was like high stakes illegal games.

    A-Rod isn't betting on sports though. He's betting on poker. Every guy gambles, every guy plays poker.

    If he's betting on baseball games, then I'd suspend him. No question about it.

    Yes but high stakes poker games are illegal, once it reaches an amount limit, i forget what it is, it differs state by state, but once it reaches that limit its illegal to hold a game unless you sanction it with the gambling commission, thus he broke the law.
