    Default Brian Campbell To Florida

Defenceman Brian Campbell has agreed to waive his no-trade clause in order to go to the Florida Panthers.

The Chicago Blackhawks sent Campbell to the Panthers in exchange for forward Rostislav Olesz.

Campbell still has five years left in his current contract at $7.1 million per year.

The 32-year-old defenceman had 27 points and was a plus-28 last year for the Blackhawks. The former sixth-round draft pick has 312 points in 11 seasons in the league.

Olesz scored six goals and 17 points in 41 games with Florida last season. The 25-year-old former first-round draft pick missed a number of games due to injury, including a 17-game stint on the injured list with a broken finger, and the final 21 games of the season with a knee injury.

Olesz has a no-trade clause that kicks in on July 1.

There is a god! lmao Man we NEEDED to trade him BAD and thank god that Dale Tallon is dumb enough to pay for his mistake for signing him to that deal to take him on in Florida. This gives us about 14M (depending on what we do with Olesz, could be 17M) to make some good moves this offseason

Keep Olsez IMO and give him a shot it cant hurt, I mean you did just get rid of one of the WORST contracts in the NHL, very fortunate Brian would waive his NTC

I think more than likely he's gonna get traded or just dumped in the Minors for awhile or maybe even sold off like Huet was lol but yeah I think the reason Soup waived it was b/c Tallon convinced him that he'd help turn around the Panthers like he did the Hawks

The Panthers are still 25 million UNDER the cap floor. I'm curious to see who else they get. Redden, Finger, Souray?

Yeah they're definitely making moves in the right direction with Soup, Versteeg, etc. If the prospects they got start to pan out they could actually turn around that Franchise

Goaltending will be interesting. I wonder if Vokoun being gone and Theo coming in will make any difference, good or bad. Their young guys can really help if they come in and do a good job. I'd like to see a guy like Evgeni Dadonov and see what he does, I like his talent level.

Yeah they gotta figure out the Goalie situation n then the team can start to move forward. Should be interesting to see how their young guys develop next year. I still think they're a couple of seasons away from being anything legit. They could maybe sneak in the Playoffs one year but they wont do much ala Colorado
