Alexei Yashin isn't guaranteeing a return to the NHL this coming season, but he hasn't ruled out the possibility, either.
Yashin, 37, has been in talks with the New York Islanders, along with several KHL clubs about playing for the 2011-12 season.

"I'm an unrestricted free agent," Yashin told New York's Newsday. "I'll look at all situations. We'll see what is the right decision for me."
Mark Gandler, Yashin's agent, maintains that the Isles are the only NHL club to have pitched his client an offer.

Yashin has spent the last four seasons playing overseas in Russia after the Islanders bought out his contract.

In 52 games with SKA of the KHL last season, Yashin registered 15 goals and 18 assists for 33 points.
